Scouts Football Depth Chart: Positional Standouts Heading Into Mundelein Game
Week 9 has arrived and the Scouts are back home as they face the Mundelein Mustangs.
Here’s how Lake Forest’s depth chart stands out at each positional group heading into tonight’s game (embedded links are to a player’s football-specific social media feed):
Quarterback
Danny Van Camp — Junior
Collin Blocki — Senior
Analysis: One essential aspect to any starting quarterback is availability. The Scouts have had the benefit this season of an available starting quarterback in Danny Van Camp. He’s been knocked down but got up every time. Friday against Warren, DVC got hit by a Warren defender and did get back on his feet. But he left the game due to a finger injury and did not return. He’s good to go tonight vs Mundelein and the Scouts will need optimal performance out of their trigger man. Coaching points for DVC: hand the ball off, get in the right protections and take what the defense gives, make the throws, move the chains and get this offense into the end zone. If another QB comes into the game, don’t be surprised if first off the bench is Blocki, a senior who has varsity experience and understands the offense.
