Scouts Football newsletter is back!
For the remainder of the 2021 football season, full coverage of Lake Forest Scouts football right here
Hi everyone. It’s been awhile. How have you been? Some news to report.
Those of you receiving this email are on a list for the ScoutsFootball.com website that I published from 2016-19.
Subscribers to that website will remember receiving coverage of the Lake Forest Scouts football team throughout each of those seasons.
Now, in the midst of the 2021 season, I’ve decided to bring it back.
My reasons for doing so are twofold:
There is even less coverage from mainstream media than there was when I started the website in 2016. I keep hearing from people “we miss your coverage” and “why are you not at the games?” No reason to wonder anymore as I will be at all the games for the remainder of the 2021 season.
This is probably the most compelling reason - I’m a coach and advisory board member in our Jr. Scouts youth football program. Many players now in the program - freshman, JV, varsity - are players I coached in Jr. Scouts. I realized how much I miss not witnessing their development in person and enjoying in their successes. I’m deeply invested in our youth program and understand the importance of how connecting all levels - youth and high school - helps expose young men (and women) to the great game of football. If I can share stories of the current players and their successes, that message reverberates within the community and hopefully more young people will see it and want to be a part of it.
So beginning today, the Scouts Football newsletter is live.
You will receive a few emails today with published articles. The same on Friday. I wanted to give a heads up so you know what to expect and to check your email throughout the day.
This is also important.
If you are no longer interested in receiving any Scouts Football content, no worries. All you have to do is click the ‘unsubscribe’ button at the bottom of this email or shoot me an email at jon@scoutsfootball.com and just ask to be removed.
You are off the list and won’t get any emails.
For those who do want to receive the content, there is a subscription charge of $50 for newsletter content. That gets you coverage for the remainder of the 2021 season.
My main reason for even having a subscription fee is this - to raise funds for our youth program.
Every season, we have athletes who can’t afford to participate in our Jr. Scouts program. Very generously, the Lake Forest Football Dad’s Club has underwritten our scholarship needs. But I’d like to augment their contribution by redirecting 25% of each subscription into a fund to help support any family in the future that can’t afford program fees
So for a $50 subscription, $12.50 goes to help families who otherwise may not have access to youth sports opportunities in our community.
For subscribers it’s a win-win: contributing to a Jr. Scouts youth football fund while also receiving much-in-demand coverage of the 2021 Lake Forest Scouts.
Sound like a good deal? I hope so. Here’s where you can go to subscribe:
